On May 6, 2024, Lin Liping—Central Committee member of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL), member of the TDSL Municipal Committee, and standing committee member of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress—along with researchers Zhang Han, Fan Jiajia, and Chen Yushi, visited the Shanghai headquarters of Leverage and engaged in in-depth discussions with General Manager Qu Weifeng and team members Gu Jianan, Zhao Xinyuan, and Xu Jianfeng on challenges and countermeasures in international trade.

Ms. Lin, representing the TDSL, introduced her team members and explained that the research project on green supply chains and trade response measures is commissioned by the Shanghai Municipal Committee. She expressed a particular interest in exchanging insights with Leverage to help the government and enterprises address challenges and contribute strategies.

Qu Weifeng, General Manager of Leverage, introduced the company’s team and provided an overview of the company. He shared perspectives and recommendations on various topics, including ESG, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the Batteries and Waste Batteries Regulation, the Clean Competition Act, responses to domestic standards and practices, experiences and case studies in green supply chain management among domestic and international companies, as well as ideas for building a green supply chain system for Chinese enterprises—with specific reference to the automotive industry in Shanghai.

The research team spoke highly of Leverage’s efforts in sustainable development, particularly in areas such as ESG and dual-carbon initiatives. They expressed appreciation for the insights shared and looked forward to receiving more project case studies from Leverage. Such practical examples are expected to serve as valuable references for governmental decision-making, ultimately supporting and benefiting Chinese exporters.
