To address the issue of foreign trade products not meeting local standards, various governments have implemented pre-shipment inspection andCertificate of Conformity programs to ensure imported goods conform to their national standards. By commissioning 3rd independent testing organizations to inspect goods, these programs ensure that products meet the requirements of the destination country, thereby reducing the risks associated with international trade and protecting domestic consumers from hazardous and non-compliant products. Additionally, these inspections help importers and exporters stay informed about the latest requirements and trends at the destination port, reducing the risk of goods being rejected upon arrival. Moreover, customs authorities in the importing country require importers to provide a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by an accredited international certification body to clear the goods.
