Leverage has established the ISC (Impartiality Safeguarding Committee) to ensure fairness across all its service processes.
The ISC's primary mission is to uphold the impartiality, independence, and objectivity of Leverage's certification and auditing activities, thereby safeguarding our reputation and maintaining trust in the market. Leverage is fully committed to adhering strictly to international standards and relevant regulatory requirements. The ISC plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring this, preventing conflicts of interest and inappropriate conduct. Below are the key objectives and the action plan:
◆Ensure Impartiality: Monitor the independence of certification and auditing processes, avoid conflicts of interest, and ensure that certification outcomes are free from internal or external pressures and undue influence.
◆Maintain Transparency: Regularly evaluate and report on certification and auditing activities to ensure transparency, demonstrating our commitment to impartiality to all stakeholders.
◆Enhance Credibility: Through strict management of impartiality, strengthen the company’s reputation within the industry and earn the trust of clients and the broader public.
◆Comply with Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that our operations meet the standards of international and national certification bodies, particularly in regard to impartiality management, such as ISO/IEC 17021.
◆Establish an Independent Committee: The ISC will consist of independent members who are not involved in the company's daily operations. These members should include representatives from various stakeholder groups, such as clients, academia, and industry associations, to ensure the committee's independence and diversity.
◆Regularly Review Certification Processes: The committee will conduct regular reviews of the company’s certification and auditing processes to ensure they adhere to impartiality and independence standards. The committee will also assess for potential conflicts of interest or inappropriate conduct during these processes.
◆Develop Conflict of Interest Policies and Procedures: Implement a robust conflict of interest management system to ensure there are no financial or other interests between certification personnel and the audited parties. The committee will regularly evaluate the effectiveness of these policies and suggest improvements as necessary.
◆Transparent Reporting and Open Communication: The committee will regularly issue impartiality reports, providing data and assessments related to certification and auditing activities. These reports will be shared transparently with the company’s management and external stakeholders to reinforce trust and transparency.
◆Training and Education: Offer training on the principles of impartiality and independence to employees and stakeholders, ensuring they understand and comply with relevant regulations. This initiative will foster a culture of impartiality within the company, mitigating potential risks.
◆Handle Complaints and Appeals: Establish a mechanism for handling complaints and appeals to ensure that any concerns about the certification or auditing process are addressed independently and fairly. The ISC will oversee the resolution of these complaints and ensure the company implements appropriate corrective actions.
