PV and New Energy Traceability Audit

PV and New Energy Traceability Audit

In 2021, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) developed the Solar Supply Chain Traceability Protocol 1.0 based on the corporate social accountability framework within the photovoltaic (PV) industry. This protocol aims to guide the PV industry towards genuine sustainability of PV products.

PV and New Energy Traceability Audit

Numerous PV import enterprises in the European and American markets will gradually implement an independent 3rd audit mechanism under the protocol to determine the source of product materials and trace the movement of these materials throughout the supply chain.

To better assist PV and new energy enterprises in meeting the compliance requirements of target markets, Leverage offers PV product supply chain traceability audit services. We conduct systematic risk assessments in accordance with SEIA protocol requirements, covering human resources, infrastructure, document records, and organizational operations, from the procurement process to shipment. This helps enterprises provide traceability evidence for their products across the entire supply chain, enhancing market competitiveness.

Importance of PV Traceability:

● Optimized Quality Control

Traceability helps ensure quality control throughout the production process. By tracking the source of raw materials, production processes, and quality inspection results, manufacturers can promptly identify and correct potential issues, thereby improving the overall performance and reliability of the components.

● Supply Chain Transparency

It increases supply chain transparency, allowing consumers and regulatory bodies to clearly understand the production process and environmental impact of the components. This is especially important for consumers who prioritize social accountability and environmental consciousness, as they can support green energy development by choosing traceable PV components.

● Regulatory Compliance

Globally, many countries and regions have stringent regulations and standards for the manufacture and import of PV components. Traceability helps demonstrate that manufacturers comply with these regulations, thereby gaining market access and consumer trust.

● Risk Management

It assists enterprises in better managing supply chain risks, such as raw material price fluctuations and supplier instability. Through traceability, enterprises can more flexibly adjust procurement strategies, ensuring stable supply and cost control of components.

● Consumer Trust

For consumers, purchasing traceable PV components means they can be assured that their investment is in high-quality products that meet environmental standards. This trust is crucial for building long-term brand loyalty and market share.
